So today it is raining and hot what to do with the kids … had
planned to go to the park and have a picnic but with weather decided to abort that idea. Breakfast
completed and they asked to play playmobil, enough time to fit a run in?
Treadmill kind of day 3 miles it is (Boom). Today kids asked to go on the
treadmill so Robert did two minutes holding my hand a nice slow walk, Amelia
asked to do six minutes slow handing the sides, she said 'mummy do I look like
you?' I told her 'no you look better than mummy well done'. (Love that my kids
look up to me running, I have never been good at running and since having the
kids and being able to run with the buggy with them in and having a treadmill when
they don’t want to go in the buggy that they encourage me to keep going and not
give it up). Robert in Peppa pig nappy pull ups today pleasssse lets see if
we can get through today without having to change and get this Potty training
on a role, he will use the toilet but doesn't ask to go (so different to Amelia).
Plank with Robert on my back, he loves to assist in making it harder for mummy yet making it look easy and Amelia loves to use mummys phone to take pictures.
Both kids asked to go soft play (I hate soft play my idea of
hell), some of these places are too big and full and makes me feel I can’t relax, permanently looking for the kids and if they split watching both at the same time is hard in itself.
We had our picnic on the livingroom floor whilst watching cloudy with a chance
of meatballs hmm random film but not as bad as Emoji so I can live with that LOL.
Met a friend and her two kids similar age to mine, great as
Amelia has a friend to run around with and Robert too. Soft play great today
two sweaty kids and ran around hopefully be tired and less hyper active (I can
dream … right?) Robert is doing well asked to go to the toilet and dry nappy (so far so good), telling him not to get his Peppa pig nappy dirty or the taped ones are coming back on may have worked we will see ...
Bribed kids that if they were good we would walk around the
pet shop so they could look at the animals (bad mum I know why not take them to
the zoo? Farm park? In this weather I was not feeling it). They were good at Pet shop, only
had to tell them to not touch five times or don’t shout at the hamsters or tap
on the glass you’ll kill them and Amelia's response what do you mean kill them
its glass mum how will they die!? (4 year old clever little sod is what I was
thinking).
So went to home bargains told myself we were only getting
one toy each (hmmmmm yeah right), walked out with two spiderman toys the same
so they don’t fight over them, a wonder woman figurine for Amelia, two random
figurines for Robert he carried the whole way round the shop, chocolate for me, pink wafers a treat for the
kids but I like too (who am I kidding, I may eat most of them) refills for air
freshener at home, bubble bath, anti hesamine cream, (mosquito bites cheers) any way so what should have been a small quick trip turned
into £45 later (KIDS 1 – MUMMY
0, but as we got to the till Amelia did say mummy I have been good trying to justify being spoilt).
So I
said to Amelia and Robert can mummy get a coffee please and will you be good? and you can
play with your new toys, Robert said yes mummy I will, Amelia yes mummy only if
I can have a muffin please (I must take my kids to often, she knows which
coffee shop I meet Faye at and what she has when she has been good ), I know I spoil
my children but only when they are good and I do not get embarrassed to tell
them off in public although a times Robert can test me with
crying and no tears (attention all eyes on us this boy knows what to do, will mummy crack and give me what I want and stop everyone from looking).
So order a cold coffee with a shot of white chocolate yummm,
I buckle and lemon muffin for me, carrot cake for Faye and sprinkle marshmallow
thing each for the kids as now they are choosing sprinkles are more appealing
and look better Amelia tells me and Robert shouting sprinkles mummy. Sit down
enjoying muffin and Robert shouting, ‘mummy, cake some’ I love cake, do I like
to share not really but when kids persistently ask I will give in, Robert asks
for more and Amelia has cottoned on Robert has had some and she hasn’t,
seriously these kids may as well have the muffin. Amelia asks to go to the
toilet, Robert says yes toilet me too, there is nothing these kids don’t want
to do at the same time, take them both (Robert nappy still dry woohoo, day
going well). Five minutes later Robert is shouting poo mummy, what Robert you
want a poo or you have done one, poo he shouting, so I ask him put your toys on
the table and I’ll take you to the toilet he puts one down and the other he has
hidden behind his back, put that back too I asked him he says nooooo, Amelia is
now saying mummy I need to go too, right lets go I am holding it together
(JUST) and grunting and Robert is copying me. Get to the toilet and Amelia is
already jumping on it, Robert shouting move Amelia and decides to flush while
she is sat on it, I move Robert away from the toilet trying to keep him away
from the door so he doesn’t open the door (he has a tendency of doing this when
I am on the loo and can’t reach to shut it, thanks buddy!!), Amelia is asking
me to wipe her bum (glorious when is she going to do it herself I asked her who
will do this when you start school Amelia and she said I’ll ask a teacher, my
kid has an answer for everything) Robert decides to turn the taps on full whack
(breathe). This starbucks trip is going to be short I’m feeling the kids want
to go. So go back to the table and I am trying to persuade Robert to finish his
sprinkles (hate buying things if they don’t eat it) he puts it all in his mouth
and I sit there talking to Faye I look at him he has a cheeky grin on him and I
know he is going to do something but what I don’t know, he decides to laugh and
in the process spit sprinkles at me, I see Faye she is trying not to laugh and I
can see others looking and pointing and I am trying to hold it together, he
then sees people laughing and the whole marshmallow is out, Sprinkle
marshmallow shower at mummy cheers Robert, trying to look nice and not covered
in food or dog hair is impossible maybe one day ayy…
(Robert nappy still dry an achievement today)
Decided call it a day there KIDS 2 – MUMMY 0
